The staff were the best part of our holiday: such a cheerful, friendly, helpful team. They arranged smooth pick-ups from the property for Stone Town, Jozani Forest, a spice farm, and a snorkelling trip, all for much less than we’d have paid through an agent or app. We spent ten wonderful days here. The bungalows are rustic, just what we wanted, with ensuite showers and toilets, double beds, bath and pool towels, and mosquito nets. We stayed in Banda 1 and 4. The pool was clean and well kept, with comfortable loungers and shady spots. Food was simple, fresh, and well prepared, with plenty of choice including vegetarian dishes. We chose half-board, so each evening we could pick a starter, main, and dessert. Breakfast was a set two-course meal with tea or coffee and fruit juice. Drinks were inexpensive, the cocktails were strong, and happy hour ran from 4-7 each evening. Thank you all!

The room felt dated, the bedding was dirty, and I found a mouse or rat in the bathroom. The shower and toilet were in poor shape and need work. It’s a cheap place with a very pleasant, quiet atmosphere, and the staff were amazing. The location is great, the hotel is very cute, and the food was delicious with lots of options. Breakfast could use a little improvement, but was okay overall.

After I booked two nights for my family, the next morning the receptionist asked us for extra money for the second night and said, “Pay or leave.” We had already booked, so how were my family and I supposed to leave? The staff were not professional, and the resort was not clean. They also charged four dollars every day for water. I’ve never before seen water excluded from the room. This was the worst resort I’ve seen in five years of visiting Zanzibar.

On our second day on the island, we were walking quietly along the beach when your three dogs, about 50 metres away, suddenly ran toward us barking. There was no provocation. Your German shepherd bit my husband first, then your great dane, leaving two deep wounds measuring 7x5 cm. Our holiday plans ended that day. He couldn’t sunbathe, swim, or walk, and had to go to hospital daily for treatment and injections. He may need several more weeks to recover fully, and I haven’t even mentioned the shock or the fear of dogs this will leave behind. Children could have been playing there instead of us, and the outcome could have been much worse, though the dogs left after biting him once. I couldn’t leave without telling you what happened and congratulating you on your sense of responsibility toward guests and anyone walking past your hotel. I wonder how you can keep guard dogs without giving them any training or proper socialisation. In other countries, your dogs would have been euthanised immediately. I wonder whether the same fate should apply to irresponsible, careless dog owners like you. We’ll use every bit of social media reach we have to share this and make sure people know what they’re agreeing to when booking. We thank your employee

The team made our two-week stay so relaxing, and we sometimes felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. My little boy and I had a wonderful holiday here. A huge thank you to Fasi/Punch, the chefs, and the other restaurant staff for taking his food allergies seriously from day one. They wrote them down and made sure he had safe meals, which let me relax at mealtimes. The food was delicious, and you can preorder too. The pool was clean and warm, and our typical Zanzibar-style room was clean as well. It’s quiet, but taxis and tuk-tuks are easy to find on the main road. You can swim in the sea when the tide is right. We can’t wait to return.
