The food was the highlight for us. Every seafood dish we tried was fresh, full of flavour, and delicious. We loved every meal. Peter, the manager, was especially helpful with arranging our trips, and the whole staff were warm and attentive. Zanzistar has lovely, thoughtful design, and our room felt cosy and airy, like home. The hotel is close enough to walk to the beach, but set back enough to feel private and peaceful. When we arrived, it felt like stepping into a little forest oasis. We loved our stay and would come back in a heartbeat. I’d recommend it to anyone after a relaxing, memorable getaway.

We ended up eating at the hotel every day and tried nearly everything on the menu. The food was really tasty, even for picky French eaters like us. The beach bar was a great place to tan, chat, have a drink, or grab a bite. Our room was clean and lovely, and the bed was pretty comfortable. Peter, Esther, Eli, Din, and the rest of the staff were so friendly and caring. We had an amazing stay at Zanzistar. Thanks for such a lovely time!

The people working here are so kind and friendly. The rooms are lovely, and the restaurant is great. We especially loved the beach bar, it’s such a nice spot. Awesome!

Zanzistsr is one of my favourite places for dinner. There are two locations, the hotel restaurant serving dinner and a shaded bar right on the beach. Ellie was so welcoming and kind. I’ll definitely be back ✨

We stayed here for five lovely days after trekking up Kilimanjaro and Meru, and the quiet, friendly setting was just what we needed to relax. Zanzistar is a charming, cosy hotel with a welcoming feel, and the staff were kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. The manager was especially thoughtful and made sure things ran smoothly. A short walk away, the beachside bar and restaurant has ocean views and tables right on the sand. The food was delicious, especially the unforgettable tuna tartare. Our one small suggestion is to serve brewed coffee instead of instant at breakfast. I’d happily recommend it to anyone wanting a laid-back, memorable stay in Zanzibar.
