Breakfast was a real highlight, with fresh pastries and a changing selection of hot dishes. They made eggs, crêpes and waffles in front of us. The range wasn’t huge, but there was something for everyone and the quality was very good. The grounds and pool were pleasant and well kept, with enough places to sit and relax. It’s not an extraordinary property, though you can see the effort put into cozy photo spots and a nice atmosphere. Trees partly block the sea view from the pool. In the evenings, local performers put on different shows and activities, a lovely way to get a taste of local culture. Lunch and dinner are à la carte, with local food. The menu doesn’t change, and the taste was okay, nothing special, though portions were generous. The bed wasn’t very comfortable either. Still, friendly service and a nice atmosphere made it a good hotel.

The local staff, especially Emmanuel and Witness, were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. It was painful to see how disrespectfully the Polish hotel staff and owner spoke to and treated staff from Zanzibar. Calling it a “direct personality” doesn’t excuse that kind of treatment; it was completely uncalled for. We also had a wedding during normal hotel operations, and it took over the areas regular guests needed. All the beach loungers and those in the intermediate area were cleared for the wedding. Only 10 loungers remained by the pool, nowhere near enough, and nobody tried to find a solution. We ended up leaving the hotel just to find somewhere to relax. The pool bar was unmanned for two hours, so we couldn’t order drinks, even though the restaurant drinks come from there too. With the hotel’s rather high prices, that was absolutely unacceptable. I understand the wedding was important, but paying guests should have been looked after too. The hotel should either be booked exclusively for such an event or all guests should be treated equally. The Polish wedding party was clearly favored by the Polish owner, while the rest of us felt invisible. The hotel itself was actually quite good. Breakfast was delicious, and the food generally tasted great. But there are hardly any other hotels or restaurants within walking distance, so you depend heavily on the hotel kitchen. The lunch and dinner menu could use more variety, since we quickly ran out of new things to try.

Beautiful nature, delicious food and outstanding service made our Zanzibar holiday special. The owners’ warmth, dedication and personal attention to every guest create a unique atmosphere that stays with you. We had an amazing stay and highly recommend it.

The quiet, romantic atmosphere and sense of privacy made it easy to slow down and enjoy our time at Zanzibella Hotel & SPA. The grounds felt like a botanical garden, with lush greenery and beautifully maintained landscaping. Our room was spacious, elegant and very comfortable. The massage was professional and deeply relaxing, one of the highlights of our visit. The tuna tartare was another standout: fresh, perfectly prepared and delicious. Management and staff were warm, attentive and genuinely caring, and the evening show programs were a fun, memorable surprise. A beautiful place to unwind, highly recommended.

My girlfriend stayed at Zanzibella Hotel & SPA on a business trip and had an incredible time, from the beautiful rooms and amazing food to the lively atmosphere, welcoming staff and rich local culture. When she celebrated her birthday there, I contacted the hotel at short notice to ask for a surprise birthday video. The team made it happen effortlessly and made her day feel truly special. Their communication, willingness to help and care for guests really stood out. I’m grateful to the owner and the whole team for creating such a memorable experience. I can’t recommend the hotel enough and plan to visit next year.
