I was only there for two nights for work, and the owner and employees were very hospitable. The rooms were clean and the food was good. Given the location, they really do all they can to make your visit a good one. I often stay in larger "five star" hotels where the service is less than half as good as what I got here.

Breakfast came with a lovely view over the coconut palm forest. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and there was hot water. The food was delicious and the service friendly. It's close to the town center, though a bit far from the beach, which helps keep the price down.

We planned a quick stop because it's near the ferry, but felt so comfortable that we stayed 9 nights. It's clean, nicely priced, and the staff are friendly. The cook will do everything to make you a good meal. On our last evening, the hotel even arranged a bonfire just for us. Thank you! If we come back to mafia, we'll definitely stay here again.

For 30usd, we got a double room with its own shower and toilet. It's one of the cheaper places on the island, though still quite expensive compared with mainland Tanzania, especially for what the hotel offers. The room itself was okay, and breakfast was surprisingly good. The waitresses were kind and nice too. The restaurant was the real problem. We tried dinner there three times, and each time the food took more than 1.5h, tasted horrible, and was well below standard. It's more of a bar serving food, open to locals, which might make it a good place to mingle. For us, the downside was the noise: someone's music box at full volume, music from the bar, and a TV. It seemed to stay open until the last guests left, sometimes as late as 2-3 am. If you stay here, be prepared for late nights, bring beers, or be a very good sleeper. If there are other cheap places around the island, I'd suggest staying elsewhere. As far as we know there aren't, so Ibiza inn seems to be the place to be.

The owner was really helpful with transport, and we appreciated the free pickup from the ferry. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was pretty good. For a budget stay, this is the best place we know of on Mafia island. The room was fine for a cheap place, and the AC worked well, which was very welcome. Dinner was okay, though they warned us the wait could be 90 minutes. The bar was often noisy, with locals hanging out and playing their own music, but we enjoyed the vibe and the tunes. It never got out of hand, and our room stayed quiet when we wanted to sleep.
