Clove Island Essence & Spa Boutique

The staff were the stars of our epic, kid-friendly family holiday. Everyone was great, especially the many awesome South African staff who made us feel at home. Rooms were clean, service was good, there were extra activities, and the beaches were quiet, with just 1or 5 beach boys around. Shout out to Peter Pan! Chef Van Zyl’s food was great, and Zef was 10/10. Walk the beach and try all the places 10 min up/down, including the restaurant beach hotels. For car rental, take pictures before you get the car. The great 🇹🇿 guy at reception always backs his guests and is super helpful with any problems. Top10 Boet! Take pics of the car! PSA: Sea Turtles 🐢 bite! Don’t wear flower or green board shorts. Jol, and watch out for sea urchins!

The people made our stay at Clove Island Resort in Zanzibar feel especially warm. Thanks to the restaurant’s chef for the amazing food, and to Rosie, Daiana, Severin and the whole team for treating us like family. We’re grateful to every one of you, including anyone we may have accidentally left unnamed. The accommodation was lovely, the place impeccably clean, and the service and food were exceptional. We spent 12 wonderful days here and would definitely come back. The ocean is very close, and watching those beautiful sunrises from the balcony was a treat. The staff are kind, the food is very good, and the chefs are extraordinary. We felt very safe, including with the pool water having enough chlorine for us to enjoy our holiday safely. We also had a great time at two parties with live music. Thank you, Daiana, Severin, Rosie and everyone else! One small suggestion: a bit more variety of fruit in the morning would be nice :)) Adelina and Claudiu

Breakfast was our highlight. It was delicious and changed each day, and the service was exceptional. Janeth was especially lovely, as were all the staff. We weren’t sure what to expect at first, but Clove Island exceeded it in every way. The rooms, pool area and restaurant are super stylish, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The gym is small, but had everything we needed for a good workout. We loved our stay and wished we could stay longer.
