The bungalows felt dark and dingy, and they smelled of mold. There's a tourist attraction about 30 feet away, so the area gets very busy with lots of people walking past. After looking around, I cancelled my booking. Staying there would have cost me 45 a day. Breakfast is included, and guests can enter the zoo and turtle sanctuary for free.

Bring swimming goggles if you want to see the turtles underwater. You can get very close to them, and swimming with them was a wonderful experience. It's safe, and even if you can't swim, there are spots shallow enough to stand in and still feel the turtles nearby. I'd recommend it if you're in Zanzibar.

We had to switch rooms three times during our six-night stay because something kept going wrong. First there was no electricity, then the water pressure failed, and after that a pipe burst under the sink. Really not cool.

I just visited the turtle sanctuary. There are lots of turtles, and they're not small. They love the seaweed people toss in, and seem to know that visitors bring food, so they're very friendly.

Swimming with the turtles was a great experience. They're huge and so friendly. There are changing and shower rooms, but two isn't enough.
