We stayed for a week and had a really relaxing time. The garden is lovely, the distance to the beach and restaurants is just right, and the rooms are comfortable. The owners were friendly and helpful, but I was especially charmed by the cheerful, positive way the kitchen and housekeeping ladies treated us. They were kind, smiling, and had a sense of humor. They even made a special birthday decoration and sang for our daughter. Breakfast was fine, especially the fruit, avocado, and special potato snacks. My only comment is the bathroom: it was clean, though it could use some renovation. I can recommend Cocolala.

Staff, rooms, and breakfast were all amazing. Sebastian gave us a warm welcome and took us in when our other accommodation wasn't working out. They really made us feel like family. There aren't enough words to say how amazing Cocolala beach house is. I'm looking forward to coming back on my next trip to Zanzibar. Thank you!

I'm eternally grateful to Ms Carola for how incredibly helpful she was with the situation we had. The hotel is also in a perfect spot, right in the middle of the tourist area and by an amazing beach.

The breakfast was one of the worst, just eggs and poor-quality jams, with basically no options for $120 a night. Getting there was also a problem. We followed Google Maps to the location marked Cocolala, but they told us it was the wrong address. Nobody was there to help us, so our driver had to drag our luggage all the way to the beach. They knew about the electricity problem from the day before when we checked in, but didn't say anything, even though it was hot and humid and the electricity wasn't working. They could clearly see I was pregnant and with my husband. We asked if we could book another night and they acted like everything was fine, offering to look for a room. We didn't book, because that night the electricity went on and off at least 35 times. When I went to reception, I saw that all the other buildings had electricity. The receptionist just smiled without any compassion. The bed was the hardest and noisiest I've ever slept on. The bathroom seemed like a joke, the basin moved around, and there was no AC in the hot, humid room.

We were delighted we picked Cocolala Beach Resort. The spacious rooms are surrounded by lush greenery, so you feel nestled in nature, and the beach is only a two-minute stroll away, with activities for all kinds of tastes. The staff really set Cocolala apart. They were warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Breakfast was outstanding and a delicious way to start each day. This place exceeded our expectations, and we can't recommend this hidden gem highly enough.
