Mawimbi Bungalows

Our room at Mawimbi Bungalows was simple, clean, and comfortable, with a fan but no air conditioning, and a mosquito net over the bed. We spent two nights there and felt welcome even before arriving, because Carla, the hotel owner, had messaged to ask when we'd get in and whether we needed a transfer. On arrival, we got a warm welcome and a freshly made smoothie. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to. A special thank you to the young 25-year-old man who welcomed us and kept looking after us, asante sana for everything! :) Breakfast was wonderful. There was a simple, tasty buffet, and we could also order extras like crepes, fried eggs, or avocado at no extra cost. Cappuccino was $2-3. Carla shared some tips that made our time in Nungwi unforgettable. On our last day, she even arranged a private snorkeling boat trip with a friend within 30 minutes, including dolphin sightseeing. Thank you so much, Carla, your team, and your driver. We'll definitely be back! :)

The grounds are open and cool, with well-kept exotic plants and a nice saltwater pool. The place is stunning, and the rooms are extremely clean and pretty. Staff are always polite and ready to help, and Carla is a welcoming, helpful host. I stayed five nights at Mawimbi Bungalows, sharing a room with my cousin. It's very close to the beach and Nungwi central square, which is worth wandering around for its cool shops. I recommend it to anyone visiting Nungwi. It costs less and, for my taste, feels much more comfortable and relaxed than the big resorts I saw from the beach.

We stayed at the resort for ten nights with two friends and had an amazing time. By the end, the welcoming staff made us feel like part of a family. The service was really good, the rooms were clean, and everyone was friendly and ready to help. I'd recommend this place to anyone needing accommodation in Nungwi, just a few minutes from the beautiful beach.
