Warere Beach

The rooms are separate little cottages with cozy terraces, so the setting feels private and secluded. Warere Beach is a lovely boutique hotel, with a nice mix of comfort and a laid-back atmosphere. The facilities are great for unwinding, and the place feels safe. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, which made our stay especially comfortable. It’s a little outside Nungwi center, but only 5-10 minutes away by taxi or tuk-tuk. The beach is attractive and easy to swim at during high tide, and there’s a pool too. A charming hotel that delivers on comfort and atmosphere, 10/10.

My mother and I had a fantastic stay at Warere. The rooms were spotless, and the beautiful property has lovely views and direct beach access. It was peaceful, and every staff member paid close attention to our needs and requests, making the stay feel perfect. Special thanks to Sulaiman and Lameck for helping us so much on our last day in Nungwi. We’ll be back in Zanzibar and will definitely stay at Warere again.

We spent part of our honeymoon at Warere, and the welcome and service were impeccable from the moment we arrived. Warere Beach is a quiet, beautiful place with just over 20 rooms, which lets the staff give guests individual attention. The rooms are clean, spacious, air-conditioned, and comfortable. We were given the family room for four even though there were only two of us. The balcony was lovely at any time of day or night. Staff were kind and friendly, and most seemed genuinely interested in guests’ comfort. The chef was the real gem. Every meal we had was well made, with fresh ingredients, generous portions, gentle seasoning, and a little personality. I loved the lentil curry so much I ordered it four times during our six-day stay. I also had a wonderful holistic massage at the spa, which is rare for me. The turquoise ocean views are spectacular. The beach is beautiful and quieter than others nearby, with fewer vendors and Masaai entrepreneurs than the main beaches. There are lots of rocks and sea urchins, so aqua shoes are a must to reach the soft sand farther in. Swimming is easy at high tide, but, as at many island spots outside Kendwa and Nungwi main beaches, the tide changes sharply and the beach is completely covered at high tide. We’d recommend Warere over similarly priced places in the north, especially around Nungwi and Kendwa.
