White Blue Bungalows

I paid $25 a night, including a modest breakfast of eggs, toast, fruit, and coffee. It was simple, but fine since I wasn't expecting much. I found the place while walking around, when a staff member offered me a good deal. Compared with nearby hostels at a similar price, the good A/C was a big plus in the humid beach weather. Beautiful Nungwi beach is only a minute away, and the hot water worked well. Construction was still going on, but I was out at the beach most of the day; by the time I returned around 5 or 6 pm, the work had stopped. It's convenient to spend the day at the beach and walk back for a shower. I'd recommend it to budget travelers and backpackers.

We had actually booked at Kihori Bungalows, which seems to be connected to these bungalows. After two nights, we cancelled and spent the rest of our stay at another nearby resort. Our room had an ant nest, and there was constant construction noise. The place looked like a ruin, with no plants or signs of life. Nearby options weren't much more expensive. The room had air conditioning, a bed, a toilet, and toilet paper.

Hot water was hit or miss. Otherwise, the dorms were fairly priced and clean, with air conditioning and a fan. Great location, and the staff were helpful.

It's not the most comfortable place, but it costs less than the alternatives nearby and is still close to the beach.
