Paje By Night

I was impressed by the service, food quality, and value when I visited Paje by Night in October 2025. I live in Tanzania, and enjoyed it enough to bring my parents in February when they visited. I recommended the seafood platter, especially the slipper lobster and rock lobster. This time, though, was a real disappointment. We were told slipper lobster wasn’t available when we ordered. I asked if they could substitute an extra rock lobster, but the waiter said it would be extra prawns instead, and we agreed. When the platter arrived, it had neither kind of lobster, just extra calamari and octopus. I raised it with the manager, who said slipper lobster and rock lobster were the same thing, just called by different names locally. That was confusing because the menu lists them separately, and they are different. The reply felt dismissive, and it seemed our concerns weren’t being taken seriously. We were left feeling we hadn’t been dealt with honestly. Then the manager contradicted herself, saying the waiter had explained both lobsters were unavailable, after trying to convince me they were the same. It was especially disappointing after I’d recommended the restaurant based on a great earlier experience. I hope they take this feedback constructively. The location and atmosphere are still lovely, but consistency and transparency matter.

We had an amazing family stay at Paje by Night. The staff were so kind and friendly, and even upgraded our room to fit us better, which we really appreciated. The service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. We’ll definitely come back.

The yoga practice somehow gets more beautiful every time, and the team are genuinely wonderful. It’s such a magical place, as always. They offer yoga six days a week, with a great mix of styles, so check their Instagram for the timetable. I’d absolutely recommend a visit.

We were new to yoga but ended up signing up for classes every day. The place has just the right shabby chic feel for us, and it’s only a few steps from the beach. Pizza night was fab, Swahili night was so much fun, and both were good value. We especially liked the breakfast choices and delicious fresh fruit. The staff were brilliant and friendly, and Rehema was always there to handle our requests professionally and promptly. What a great find!
