Summer Dream Lodge

I went to their Tuesday night party, not for a stay. It’s a really nice, spacious place to party until 2am. The DJs are talented and the music selection is tasty. I loved seeing locals and tourists partying together, that mix made the place feel great. Cocktails are fairly priced at 10k for delicious drinks. Loved it, would recommend.

The pool party at Summer Dream Lodge had a good vibe, even though that kind of music isn’t usually my thing. Entry was 2 Dollars (5000 tanzanian shillings), and a 500 ml beer was around 3.5 dollars. Alcohol is well priced and there’s a feel-good atmosphere. For single guys, this is the place to go, if you know what I mean.😉

You can spend a week here and have pretty much everything you need to stay productive. But the house rules are unreasonably strict, with penalties as high as 100% of the full stay, and management seems willing to enforce them without much kindness. I didn’t have trouble myself, but several friends got into strange disputes with the managers and had to pay extra. Be careful not to break a rule, and keep your booking as short as possible so any penalty would be smaller.

The downside for us was the location for swimming. We didn’t use the Ozean, since the tide makes swimming less pleasant than in other places. Shops and the nearby village also mean a long walk. We enjoyed walking along the beach, but expect to sweat on the way to wherever you’re going. The rest of our stay was so good. Arrival was easy, and we felt welcome. The manager was kind and happy to answer questions or just have a chat. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed: a ventilator, A/C, Tresor, and closet. The bathroom was spacious, and there was a water bath for feet outside the door. The place felt like a little paradise, with a big pool, nice bar, really good food and breakfast, and lots of comfortable spots to hang out. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed spending time with everyone. Little touches like the foot bath were great. We could also put all food and drink costs on our bill and pay at the end, so we didn’t need a wallet or cash around; card payment was available too. We had a great time and definitely recommend a visit.
