I'm giving one star because of what I experienced with the chef, Shijah makeleja, when I was very unwell and vulnerable. He told me he would marry me and showered me with affection and promises. After I returned to Dar Es Salaam, he video-called and asked me to take off my clothes. I refused. He then verbally abused me, used many swear words, became controlling, and demanded money to support his family. He also pressured me to block all my Masai friends and abused me every day. At the end, he left me at the ferry terminal in Stonetown when I was still very ill. I nearly fainted there while crying. What happened caused me mental and psychological trauma. I have uploaded photos of chef Shija, including one of him sitting beside me while making promises I now believe were fake. I don't think he should be working at this hotel, as other female tourists could go through the same thing. I'll be contacting the tourism boards in Tanzania and Australia to ask for an apology and compensation. The management at Jajira Hoyle should be ashamed.

For quad biking in Zanzibar, this is a good place to go. The service was really nice too.

Really enjoyed everything here. The room was clean and nice, the food was delicious, and the service was good. Thanks to the chef de cuisine, reception, and room cleaner. Sorry this comment is late, I had a problem with my Google account.
