Falling asleep to the breeze and the sound of the waves was a highlight. The setting is right on the beach, and the welcome from Julia and her team felt more like being received by friends than checking into a hotel. The staff all come from the nearby village, which gave the stay a lovely local feel. This is the kind of place that feels like a friend's beach house, with warmth and genuine hospitality at its heart. It isn't about formal luxury or every detail being perfect. If you're after a beachfront stay with real connection and character, you'll remember this one. Thank you, Julia and team!

The vegetarian and vegan food was delicious, and the staff took care of all the little details. Julia, the owner, really goes out of her way for guests. Hodi Hodi in Matamwe has a warm, comfortable feel and sits right on the beach. If you get the chance, go during a full moon. I loved my visit and would recommend it for a special getaway with personal attention.

Being able to step out to the sea whenever we wanted was wonderful, and the food was fantastic too. Julia looked after us so well, as did the caring and attentive staff. I also really appreciate that Hodi-Hodi is working toward a low carbon footprint to help preserve the environment. We had an amazing stay, and I highly recommend it.

It looks like it could be a lovely place, but I stayed next door and had a strong drain smell drifting over every day. Maybe the septic tank needs emptying. I'll happily remove this review once that's sorted.

The rooms are spacious enough for a couple or a family, and the internet worked really well. I especially loved waking up to the sunrise shining through the strips of the window. The hotel has a pool, and since it's right by the beach, you can swim in either place. The beach was clear and clean. The surroundings were quiet and comfortable for relaxing, the views were lovely, and the food was amazing. From the day I checked in, the hotel staff treated me well. I had a beautiful stay at Hodi Hodi Zanzibar and would recommend it to other guests.
