Golden Tulip Zanzibar Airport

After checking out, my son and I had to come back because he became frightened of flying and couldn't board the flight. The manager and staff did everything they could to support us through the unexpected situation, with real care and kindness. I'm so grateful, and we won't forget them. We had arrived with a tour group of 33 guests on 26th January for one night before our early flight to İstanbul. The rooms, service, and staff were amazing. Special thanks to Mr. Bony, Ms. Sharifa, Ms. Blossom, and everyone who touched our hearts.

Special thanks to Evodia at the Hotel Restaurent, she's a gem. She was attentive and wonderful at her job, and such a lovely person inside and out. The waiters were incredibly friendly, the service was outstanding, and the whole team made my stay so enjoyable. I'd rate the experience 10/10, and I'll definitely be back. 😊💕

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant too. The hotel is close to the airport, though you can hear planes; it wasn't too loud for us. Our room was really nice, especially the very comfortable bed. There are two pools on site, including one that's especially big and attractive. A good choice for a night or two before or after a Zanzibar flight.

For the bus, route 505 to Uwanja wa ndege stops right outside. It runs from stonetown and continues to the airport for 500 shilling, about $0,50 or 0,30€. Tourist taxis cost much more, including the hotel's taxis. The hotel opened in june 2025 and is within walking distance of the airport. For dinner, make your way to the nicer, larger building: walk along the playground, through the port after the grassfield, and you'll reach the garden and pool with beds. The price for the quality is reasonable, especially if you have an early flight, although it's expensive by Tanzanian standards. The interiors and room facilities are up to western standard, with strong water pressure, which is rare on the island. One thing to know is that the hotel doesn't serve alcohol, unlike almost all coastal hotels in Zanzibar.
