Shaba Boutique Hotel

We only had one night here, but the room was comfortable, spacious enough for us, and had a balcony. The facilities were good, breakfast was a great offering, and the service was warm and friendly. The Stone Town location puts you close to what you need, with a short walk to the water and the markets. There’s no direct road access to the hotel, as the hotel or other reviews may mention. For a taxi, allow for a walk of about 2-3 minutes from the nearest road. We’d definitely recommend it if you want a central, comfortable hotel with all the amenities.

We were in Room 2 for one night on 4th December. The street-facing windows made it really noisy. The stairs are narrow and very steep. On the plus side, lots of places are an easy walk away because it’s near the most popular market. Breakfast is provided, and the staff service was really good. They let us eat earlier so we could catch our flight.

That cup of delicious hibiscus tea they often offer was a lovely little touch. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and everything was clean and well cared for. Shaba Boutique Hotel has a warm, authentic feel that suits Stone Town, and the building itself has plenty of character.

The rooms are tastefully decorated, with thoughtful details throughout, though their small size means the essential furniture makes them feel a little crowded. Still, the hotel's charm and location made this a lovely stay, and I’ll definitely book again when I visit. It’s a beautiful place in the heart of Stone Town, with an authentic African-Arabic style that reflects Zanzibar’s spirit.
