Friendly staff, fair prices, and a great hotel.

The food wasn't fresh or tasty, and the place was uncomfortable.

We came to the Carpathians expecting hotel service, but this felt more like a budget family guesthouse presented as a “hotel and restaurant complex.” The location still has a lot going for it: forest, slope, stream, bridge, and a wooden hut with a fireplace. It could be a great place to relax or take photos, but there’s no upkeep or service plan, and the grounds are left to themselves. The infrastructure is dated. This place may once have been the pearl of Yablunytsia, and you can still see that in the layout, the size of the grounds, and the original idea. That heritage just isn’t being maintained or developed. The advertised facilities also feel mostly nominal. The “fitness center” is a cluttered room with very little equipment. The SPA/wellness is a bathhouse that raised safety concerns during our stay because of negligence. There isn’t really a reception, so we had to keep looking for staff. Wi-Fi was weak and only worked near the room door. The rooms are basic. There’s a TV that doesn’t work, but no water, kettle, or even glasses. There’s just one kettle for the whole hotel in the kitchen. Heating was unreliable, and after showering the bathroom was cold and drafty. There’s no soundproofing, so you hear everyone and everything. Cleaning was minimal, and towels were changed only after repeated requests. No bathrobes or slippers at all. Food was a letdown too: coffee on a par with a vending machine, and cheesecakes made from cottage cheese. The New Year's table was meager, with portions much smaller than agreed. New Year's Eve service was another issue. The owners' family and friends celebrated with the staff in the hall alongside the guests. After the holidays, breakfast seemed to be made up of leftover holiday cuts. This might work for an organized budget stay if you're prepared for minimal service and to manage on your own. If you want a hotel with quiet, comfort, and service, look elsewhere.

I was here in winter, and as a teacher I’d give my stay at the Cheremosh Hotel a “solid 4.” Not everything was perfect, though the hotel clearly has high expectations for reaching a high level in everything. I’m sure the emotional impression would’ve been better in the warmer months.
