Chalet TysaBorkut

The house was bright and cozy, with everything we needed, and the private path down to the river was a real highlight. We had fun there every day ✨ I stayed with my parents and it felt magical. The owner and neighbor were always reachable. There’s also a farm called "Rosenthal" nearby where you can get a good meal or buy beer, cheese, and wine. I really liked staying here 💓

The best parts were the clean bedding, the large beds, the sound of the Tysa River, and the scenery. But for 5200 UAH a day, this was a pretty questionable stay. We were two families with small children, staying August 16-17. At check-in, a woman seemed rushed and spent only 5-7 minutes with us. She tried to explain the house quickly, but some questions never got answered. She said she’d explain later or that the information was inside, but that never happened. We also couldn’t get the stove gas turned on. She said she didn’t know how and told us to call the number used to book the cottage. The layout was awkward for us. The kitchen, dining table, and only toilet were downstairs, with the shower sharing that toilet. Upstairs were three bedrooms and no toilet, so at night everyone had to use the noisy wooden stairs. When someone went down, it woke the others, which wasn’t great with little kids and elderly people. There was no air conditioning and no window screens, so insects, including mosquitoes, got in. It was 30 degrees outside and the house was very hot. Our little one was soaked with sweat and getting bitten, and we couldn’t get the child to sleep. We went for lunch at a good place about 600 m from the cottage, which we recommend. When we got back around 6 pm, we needed to bathe the child after a "childish act," but there was no hot water. The administrator told us everything should be there and seemed to think we were mistaken. We tried some unclear operations, still no hot water, and were told to wait for the woman who had checked us in. She came and found that the boiler in the garage had simply been switched off. We called the administrator again, and at 18:45 she said it had already been turned on. Around 19:30, some "summer" water finally started coming through. What bothered us most was how we were treated. They acted as if everything was fine, while we felt like a nuisance for calling and asking for help. When the woman left, we gave her two empty wine bottles that previous guests had left behind. I’ll get to the cleanliness later. From the people we dealt with for payments and problems, we understood the owners don’t handle these organizational issues. The workers seemed uninterested in keeping the house in order.

We’ve stayed here twice, once for a night and the next time for four. The conditions are great, with a lovely setting, river access, and a fireplace.

The hosts were very welcoming, and the house was clean and well cared for. There’s easy access right by the main road, nice views from the window, and the Tisa River close by. I had a really pleasant stay and would recommend it. The place has almost everything, though I missed having a microwave and window screens. P.S. Thanks to the hosts for the "tea for friends" in the cupboard. It was fragrant and tasty, and that little detail showed they care about their guests. :)
