Hotel Bratislava

The breakfast selection was decent, and the location is excellent, with the subway nearby, buses, and shops close at hand. It’s about five stops to the city center. The hotel is pleasant, and while the rooms are on the small side, they’re cozy and look good. The bathroom was good, and there was a balcony too. A very, very good choice.

The bed was fine and the internet worked okay, so it was generally good for one night. The building needs refurbishment, though some construction work is already happening around it. Taxi drivers don’t have a clear place to pick up or drop off, and the card key elevators don’t all behave the same. The doors are quite worn, and the shower cabin was so narrow I kept banging my elbows, even though I’m not big.

Edit: the reception staff have changed, and they moved us to a new room where the AC works and it’s getting warmer. I appreciate that. Before the move, it was our third day freezing in the rooms. They kept sending repairmen, waking us in the middle of the night or morning, and seemed unconcerned. We couldn’t move elsewhere because there were no hotels nearby, and they’d already charged us for the whole stay. The rooms are $75, and they charge extra for a kettle :)). They also charged us about $80 more for a week, apparently due to a banking trick when paying by credit card. The receptionist was rude when we checked in. The rooms are tiny, and the shower is hard to move around in, even though I’m not particularly tall. Very disappointing in a lot of ways.

They told me payment for a room had to be in cash, and then the security staff assaulted and robbed me. Don’t put your family’s or your own safety at risk by choosing this hotel.
