UKR-Apartments

After more than 37 years of traveling around the world, this was unfortunately my worst experience. I was worried about my safety and left two days early because I feared the host might suddenly show up or be inside the apartment. I moved to another Airbnb after Airbnb itself warned me that hosts don't normally meet guests after check-in and offered to arrange a move if I felt uncomfortable. The trouble started with the booking. I asked to stay three nights and was told that was too short, so I added a night. After that, the host sent dozens of texts over the next few days. The address in the listing was wrong, and once we couldn't find the apartment, we had to go back to a cafe for WiFi to contact him. The WiFi password was wrong too, so we had to ask him about that as well. Getting the keys was another ordeal. The concierge he'd left them with spent nearly an hour searching because he hadn't tagged them so she could identify them. The host then sent more than 30 messages demanding to meet us in person to explain the apartment, something he could have done during check-in and saved us an hour. He repeatedly asked for my phone number and insisted I buy a Ukrainian SIM card. I said I would only contact him through Airbnb, but somehow he found my WhatsApp number and sent over a dozen messages there in half an hour. He also messaged Airbnb saying he wanted to meet me in person. This isn't the only Airbnb he runs. I'd avoid all of them, listed under UKR Apartments or UKR APTS.
