TsaTsa Hotel - Hostel

I was really frustrated by how the cancellation was handled. I asked to cancel after about an hour because I was uncomfortable in the room, kitchen, and lounge, but they would refund only the second day. They said the first night wasn’t refundable because I’d checked in and hadn’t cancelled ahead of time. I hadn’t even touched the bed, and there was no way to know what the rooms were like before arriving. It didn’t feel fair, and I don’t want other travelers to have the same experience. The place was much smaller than I expected from the photos and reviews, and felt cramped. The dorm beds seemed decent, but there were too many loud guys and large bags to move around comfortably. The kitchen was so tiny that getting around one other person to reach the fridge felt like a dance, so cooking wasn’t really possible. The lounge in the middle was dark and busy with people passing through. I didn’t use the restrooms because they looked awful.

There were too many beds squeezed into the room, though the AC was good. The lounge was really hot, and there were lots of long-term student residents, so it didn’t feel like a backpackers’ place. Residents and staff were drunk and making loads of noise at 8am. Some staff were grumpy and unhelpful, and I got told off for leaving my towel in the bathroom when I checked out.

I’ve lived in Odessa for four years, and this is practically the best place around the oblast in my experience. It’s calm and secure, with a cheerful atmosphere. The administration and reception are extremely good, and the beds are in really good condition. Enjoy!

I was really disappointed with this hostel. They asked me to leave only positive reviews, and when I tried to post one that was truthful and factual, they wouldn’t accept it. It feels like they’re controlling the reviews to keep the rating high, so you can’t see what guests really think. They don’t seem to want honest people there. I’d never recommend this place if you want a comfortable stay. I think an honest guest could run into some kind of problem.
