The hotel looked nice, but after check-in on 19.05 the good impressions stopped. Our room was dirty and had barely been cleaned. Worst of all, the bed linen hadn't been changed since the previous guests. That's unacceptable in a hotel and goes against basic sanitary standards. If you want to risk getting some kind of illness, you could check in here.

Everything was very clean, and the staff were warm and polite. The mattresses and pillows were comfortable, though the bed itself felt a little lumpy, and I missed having disposable slippers. The air conditioning worked. The location is handy if you're passing through, close to the highway. We'd stay again.

The room was lovely, but having no mini-fridge was a shame. We got the price locked in by booking months ahead, which was lucky, since otherwise the receptionist seemed ready to charge double, the full price. She wasn't especially nice. The restaurant was good, if somewhat expensive, and the waitress was a delight.

We had a great holiday with friends, five couples with kids, and we'll definitely come back. The little castle sits right beside the ski slope and is a great spot for families with small children. There's skiing and snowboarding, plus sledding for a bit of childhood fun, with things practically safe even for toddlers. Parents still need to keep an eye on their children. The Carpathian hospitality, warm atmosphere, varied home-style food, and hot mulled wine at the Magnat Hotel made even the coldest evening feel cozy. After a busy day, the hot sauna and fragrant vat helped us recover and sleep soundly. In winter, don't bring your own car unless it's a four-wheel-drive SUV. Transfers are easy to arrange.
