The hostel has a nice vibe, and the staff are super friendly. We stayed five nights altogether, one when we first arrived in Kampala and four more at the end of our bike trip around Uganda. They also let us store our bike boxes the whole time.

Breakfast was simple but enough, and Paula, the bartender, is great. Try the pizzas, and spend Tuesday night in the public area for Quiz night. I’ll definitely come back. I booked a “Single Bed in Dormitory,” but it turned out to be one bed in a double bedroom, with a shared toilet and shower. As a solo traveler who usually prefers hotels, I found everything far beyond what I expected.

Our car side mirrors were gone in under three hours. The staff tried to fool us, and after that I lost trust in this property. I’d never stay here if I wanted to enjoy my trip. There’s a serious risk of car robbery inside the fenced hostel, and the way the incident was handled made things worse. The security guards and receptionist treated us like fools who wouldn’t understand. They said they’d take our contact details, but I don’t trust that. Going to the police feels like a waste of time. If you’re travelling with valuables like phones, laptops, or cameras, be concerned about this place. After losing our mirrors, I can only give it a zero.

The breakfast was phenomenal, and the common space is lovely, especially the best cat. The single room is basic but very clean, and the WiFi is great. Staff are lovely too. There’s no AC, and the fan wasn’t great, but it cools down enough at night that it wasn’t a problem. Great hostel.
