Ewaka Guesthouse and Backpackers

The garden and group room were pleasant, and guests could use the kitchen freely. It’s a clean, affordable place in a surprisingly quiet neighbourhood, with different prices depending on the room. The host was very nice and flexible.

I couldn't believe nobody else was staying here, especially at such a good price. The hosts and service were fantastic. Some people say the location isn't ideal, but I disagree. It's hard to find somewhere this peaceful while traveling around Africa. The place is very clean, with comfortable beds, good WiFi and hot showers. There’s a yard with clotheslines and a fully equipped kitchen, including a spot to make coffee and tea.

The beds were super clean, and I really enjoyed my stay at Ewaka. I liked the simple setup: I could cook a basic meal, spend time with the dogs waiting to greet you, and unwind in the green space after the bustle of Kampala. It’s conveniently near the large Lugogo Market, where you can see locals going about everyday life. Ewaka provides mosquito nets, but I’d still bring coils or repellent.

I liked the spacious outdoor seating area and garden, and you can do your own washing. The shared room is big, and it’s a quiet, peaceful place where you can feel at home with the other guests. There’s currently no WiFi, and gas for cooking in the kitchen is on the way. Because of that, I was charged half price. I’ll be back!
