This hotel in kasubi is not safe. My friend stepped out just to get food from the carteen, and someone opened his room and stole everything important, including money, within a few minutes. The hotel says they didn't see anyone and don't know who did it. But who else had the spare keys to enter a guest's room? I believe someone at the hotel must have opened it, and workers there could be teaming up to steal from guests, right up to the manager. If you're coming from abroad or carrying anything important, stay away. This is terrible and unsafe for anyone.

The view from the rooms really made the stay for me. I could stand on the balcony for ages, just looking out, with a gentle breeze always coming through. There were plenty of good things and a few not so good, but I loved my stay.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and the large balconies give you lovely views over the city. The place has a great atmosphere and is easy to get to. I’d definitely recommend it.

Wilsen Hotel is a fairly simple, affordable place to sleep in Kampala, near Makerere University on the way to Kasubi Heritage Tombs. It feels more organized than many places in town, and the quick, professional service is what stood out most to me. Rooms cost 25-35k, with breakfast included in each price. The reception is spacious, with a well-stocked drinks bar and a television. The rooms have bathrooms, treated water, and steady power, and they’re generally clean, though some are less pleasant and the TVs don’t work. It’s a nice place, but people with mobility impairments may not find it suitable.
