The setting won me over. It’s tucked away from the road, with lovely grounds, a nice view and a little brook nearby, so it feels right for a quiet weekend away. I was unsure at first because of the name, which brought to mind the sort of sin dens you get in Las Vegas, but the stay was a pleasant surprise. The room was decent and nicely decorated, though the bed was a bit too soft for me. A substantial breakfast came with the stay. For the price, I thought it was pretty good.

A lovely, peaceful hotel in a beautiful spot. The rooms felt airy and comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. Just so you know, they don’t serve alcohol here. I’d definitely come back.

We had a really enjoyable overnight stay. The staff were attentive, breakfast was great, and our en-suite room was spacious and comfortable. It’s a traditional place with a cosy lounge, set among farms and hills in a fairly secluded rural spot. There are walking paths and a river nearby, plus plenty of off-road parking. There’s no lift to the upper floors.

We had a marvellous time here. The location is fabulous for a quiet, relaxing weekend, especially if you enjoy hiking, and the staff were wonderful. They’re genuinely pet-friendly, too. I’d recommend staying here whether you’re bringing pets or not.

We went for afternoon tea while we were staying in Slaggyford for the week. I’d seen Lovelady offering it on Facebook, so we called ahead and booked a table. A gentleman welcomed us warmly, then handed us over to three women in the dining area. Tea and coffee arrived just seconds after we sat down. One of the kitchen staff came over once the drinks had been poured to check our dietary needs. Since one of us had asked for vegetarian afternoon tea, she’d plated the meat options separately. The food was lovely and presented beautifully. The service was phenomenal, and everyone made us feel like royalty. A warm, friendly welcome, and highly recommended if you’re in the area. We’ll definitely go again.
