Cecil Court Hotel

The room was cold, with no heating on, and the towels were damp by morning. There were only three, none of them bath towels. In the bathroom, you have to step down, which felt dangerous, especially getting out of the shower onto a slippery floor. The kettle was too big to fill in the sink, there was no bottled water, and despite having coffee and tea bags, there were no spoons. The man who let us into the Cecil Court Hotel was rude and arrogant, and wasn’t the same person who was there last year. Compared with last year, things have gone downhill. I won’t return and would avoid it. Such a shame.

There wasn’t much water pressure in the shower, and the room could use a leaflet with hotel details like check-in and check-out times. It would also help to have a door sign for “Do Not Disturb” or “Please Clean My Room.” Cleanliness was very poor, especially in the bathroom. The wall-mounted soap racks were filthy, and the bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied when I arrived. There was only one towel, no hand towel, instead of the one small and one large towel that should be provided in hotel service. That was very strange.

The rooms were big and clean, and the hotel was tidy and in a great location. Parking was a bit tight, but the staff even moved their car so I could park. That was incredibly kind. Every staff member was helpful and lovely, and did all they could to make me feel comfortable and at home. I’d absolutely recommend staying here.

I’ve been coming here for 12 years, and the rooms and breakfast are good. It’s in a great position for the seafront and buses, and the staff are friendly and great. I’ve booked again for next year.
