Plas Coch Hotel

Good food and friendly staff, right in the middle of town. The location’s fantastic.

We were the family stranded in the mountains, waiting for the AA to help with our car. At around 10pm we needed somewhere to stay at the last minute, and they found a room for all five of us and our little dog. Everyone was so helpful. The room was a good size and the beds were really comfortable. Breakfast was included, and the full English was lovely and nicely prepared. While we waited for a replacement taxi the next morning, we could leave our bags at reception, take the dog out, then wait in the bar for hours. We had a really fun Mother's Day lunch and will be back. The carvery was fresh, cooked well, and great value, and the staff were so friendly. Diolch yn fawr xx

The staff are lovely and clearly do their best, but the bedrooms let the hotel down badly. The room was the worst I’ve stayed in for decades: all three beds had worn, damaged mattresses, the linen and pillows were tired, and there was just one damaged bedside lamp between them. The bathroom was noisy, dirty and worn too. The hotel is very dated and needs money spent on it. Its location in Bala is ideal, and there’s a good private car park, but I simply can’t recommend staying here.
