The Pear Tree Inn

We had a comfortable night in this lovely old English pub, with the original beams exposed in our roomy ensuite room. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the drinks were good, and the large garden had lots of seating. I only tried one snack from the bar, a lovely Pork Pie. I’d recommend the place if you want a good night’s sleep.

The pub doesn’t have a kitchen, so plan to eat elsewhere, though they did have sausage rolls, Scotch eggs and pasties. We also enjoyed going to the local brewery for breakfast. The bar has fantastic Hook Norton brewery beer and cider, and it was great to see plenty of local people and dogs 🐕. We stayed one night and loved the cosy room, with its ancient oak beams and classic English pub feel. Check-in was quick and easy, so we could get on with our evening. It’s a lovely Cotswolds location, and I’d definitely stay again when passing through.

The ales from the brewery up the road are really nice, and the staff are very friendly.

I’m sure the pub itself is lovely, but I had a terrible stay. Please move the bins away from the window or put a shed around them, don’t shift kegs at 10.30pm, and make sure guests can shower in the morning. I wrote a much longer review earlier but felt guilty about it.
