The Red Lion Hotel

The hotel was an easy walk from the Mall, restaurants and theatres, and I’d recommend it. My room was a good size, with twin beds, tea and coffee facilities, and a large bathroom. The staff were lovely and welcoming, and breakfast was excellent. I stayed overnight and would book again.

I had a very pleasant stay and would come back if I return to the area. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was comfortable too. I was running late because of work, but the receptionist I spoke to by phone, I believe Sarah, was polite and clearly explained how to get into the hotel after the doors lock at 11pm. That eased some of my anxiety about the delay. The night porter opened the door promptly, explained check-in clearly and asked whether I needed a wake-up call.

It has a slightly contemporary feel with old-fashioned charm. The hotel is well placed for shopping and dining, with a free car park and a reasonably priced breakfast.

We stayed at the Red Lion to see a show at The Haymarket, and the location was excellent for the theatre and restaurants. Staff in both reception and the dining area were attentive and welcoming. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.
