Woodman Inn

We had lunch at woodman inn yesterday, and the food was excellent, full of flavor and a lovely portion. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive and professional, making us feel welcome and helping with everything without being intrusive. It was really nice talking with them. The pub is dog friendly too, and we’ll definitely be back. We also left a suggestion in the box about changing the interior to attract more customers and make it a busier pub. The food, portions, flavor, staff service and bar drinks were all perfect, but I felt the interior was the one thing that needed work.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I paid around £130 for one night, and it was definitely not value for money. The room was huge but sparse and poorly laid out. The toilet wasn’t fixed to the wall, the shower hose had black mould on it, there were no coat hangers, and the curtains covered a window that wasn’t there. Check-in was poor too. I’d told the property my arrival time, but found the building locked and completely dark. After waiting in the rain, someone in pyjamas showed me to my room and said they close at 10pm. It was 10.45pm, the website says 11pm, and I’d given them my ETA. The next morning, I spent 10 minutes looking for someone. They just took my key, with no check-out process. There was no proper check-in or check-out, so I could have been anyone. Very poor customer service. The staff member told me in broken English that they only work there and that the building manager is in a different country. Disappointing from start to finish.

The accommodation was superb and the food excellent. The staff were great too, and happy to help with all your needs. Thanks to Sai, Naveen, Tarun, venu for their great service. Highly recommended 👍👍

The chips were okay, but they definitely weren’t “gourmet”. The vegetables were bland, overcooked and seemed to be from the freezer. The lasagna had uncooked, hard edges, and the beef and ale pie was sauce with a piece of undercooked pastry on top. Lunch was disappointing at best. Save your money, most other pubs do better food.
