Room 401 was quiet and clean, conveniently close to the stairs and lift. The shower was excellent and easy to use, with body and shower products provided. I spent three nights here to see a friend and visit the Titanic Exhibition, which took 35 minutes to walk to. The hotel is also close to Botanic Gardens and the train station, and most of central Belfast is easy to reach on foot. Breakfast cost £12.50 when booked online and was well worth it, with cooked food, cereal, fruit, a coffee machine and as much buffet food and coffee as you like. The buffet eggs were scrambled, but the friendly chef said you could ask for fried eggs when it wasn’t busy. The manager Rebecca was especially helpful and knowledgeable, a real credit to the Accor Ibis portfolio. Saoirse at reception was friendly and sorted out my apple laptop’s WiFi connection, which was a settings issue. Tony from electrics was chatty and good craic too. Two small annoyances: the WiFi dropped out sometimes, and Room 401 had no power sockets beside the bed, so bring a long lead if you want to charge your phone and set an alarm. There may be sockets by the bed in other rooms. The bar also stays open until 3am for residents. A convenient, pleasant stay.

The staff were all lovely, warm, helpful and chatty. I have nothing bad to say about them. My issues were the room equipment and the towels. The air conditioning first blew cold air or went into standby however much I tried the wall remote. After about 15 minutes it switched to hot air by itself, though reception had already said they adjusted the system. It was okay until bedtime, when the lights wouldn’t turn off. I tried every switch, but the bedside lights stayed on. I had to pull the power card from its slot to get them off, which also turned off the AC. I’d been cold all night and wanted the AC on while sleeping, but had to choose between that and darkness. The towels smelled strongly of damp clothes, maybe with some bleach too, and I could smell it on myself after showering. I asked reception for fresh ones; they kindly gave me some, but those smelled as well, just less. Thank you.

The rooms were comfortable and the food was stellar. My partner and I had an amazing stay, with friendly, incredibly helpful staff and a location that was both nice and convenient. We’d definitely stay again.

We came for a few days to see our son at Queens University, and the location worked really well: close to the university and within walking distance of the city centre. The room was clean, with plenty of storage and a comfy bed. The bathroom had an excellent shower, and breakfast had cooked and continental choices plus a great coffee machine. We’d definitely return.

Erika was an absolute delight and made us feel very welcome. The hotel was neat, clean and comfortable, and we had an amazing stay. Breakfast and dinner were outstanding, with delicious food we rated 10/10. Badul took excellent care of us while we were dining and made sure everything was just right. The service was top-notch, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Highly recommend!
