The beetroot and feta starter was a real treat, especially with those candied walnuts, and there was a good choice of ales too. We only stopped in for a quick meal while staying nearby, but the staff were lovely and the food was good. Such a shame the lovely fires weren't lit. It wasn't a warm day, and we might have stayed longer if they had been.

The atmosphere was great, and the cauliflower cheese was phenomenal, a generous portion too. I had one of the best Sunday roasts I've had in ages. Everything on the plate was delicious and there was plenty of it. It was a little pricey, but worth every penny. I'd highly recommend it. 10/10.

The pub food was amazing, and breakfast was a highlight too. Eggs Portobello was fantastic. I stayed one night for work, and the room and facilities were great. Really liked having ground coffee and a cafetière in the room.

The portions were very good, so we had no room left for pudding. The fish cakes from Brixham were excellent, as was the spiced sausage with curry sauce. I don't usually order soup, but I was glad I tried the cauliflower soup. The Scotch egg was good, though a little dry. Service had one small hiccup: our main courses arrived before the starter plates had been cleared.

The staff were lovely and did their best to accommodate all our requests. The food was of an exceptional standard, and the village is beautiful and quiet. One thing to be aware of is that the room isn't serviced daily, so you have to ask for a spruce-up, and the bed wasn't made during our stay. Even with those two drawbacks, I'd happily stay again and would recommend it.
