I reserved a room and they tried to charge me £200. For that, it was two single metal frame bunk beds, a TV that didn’t work, no refreshments or towels, and no fresh bedding. The floor hadn’t been swept or mopped, and the surfaces hadn’t been wiped. Worst hotel I’ve ever been to, and I highly recommend it be shut down. The boss said he was busy sleeping in bed when I called. I had to deal with a rude hotel assistant who didn’t speak English. A waste of time and not worth a second look.

We came in August to visit family in a nearby town, but couldn’t bring ourselves to stay even one night. The room was dark and unclean, with a mouldy “bathroom” and no toilet paper. When we finally looked under the sheets, there were hairs in the bed and it didn’t look clean. We couldn’t face sleeping there. If we’d had to, we’d have kept our clothes on and slept on top of the covers. The guest kitchen looked more like a meth lab. The photos don’t match the property, and even if it’s been cleaned up since, I’d never come back. The girl working there was friendly and understanding, so we can’t fault her. The area felt rough too, and people followed us on the streets. We were lucky to find another hotel and avoid staying. I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially for families.

I came from north Wales and had never visited Burnley or the surrounding area. I booked five nights over New Year, and the staff were so helpful and accommodating. I’ve never felt so welcome somewhere I’d never been before. I’ll definitely book again next time I’m up this way.

I refused to stay and asked for a refund so I could go elsewhere. They told me to apply through Expedia, which I did, but now the host says they won’t refund me. For £30 more, the Premier Inn down the road is worth it. The property wasn’t as advertised. My room had been painted dark grey, which I’m guessing was to cover mould based on other reviews. The furniture shown had been removed and replaced with much cheaper alternatives, and the bedding had a children’s guinea pig pattern. The bathroom was about two feet square. The area felt unsafe. I saw an argument as I got out of my car and heard another once inside. There was CCTV all over the landing, which made me feel even less safe, especially with keycode entry instead of individual keys.
