Travelodge Cambridge Central

The parking really put a damper on my stay at the Travelodge in central Cambridge. The nearest parking was about a five-minute walk away and cost £7 for 24 hours, on top of the hotel stay. They use the Ringo app, but once you set the parking time, you can’t extend it. I need quick access to my car, so that was especially frustrating. It could be a real challenge for anyone with a disability or mobility issues, and having to park away from the hotel without being able to change the time added stress. The location itself was decent if you like walking, with various attractions close enough to explore on foot. Just keep the parking limits in mind if you stay there. The Travelodge has its perks, but that issue affected my experience.

I’ve stayed at this Travelodge plenty of times and it’s always been a positive experience. The manager and staff are pleasant, and I like the location, close to the train station and right beside some good places to eat. Early check-in, good WiFi, and decent-sized rooms are all pluses. I’d strongly recommend it for a night or two.

The leisure park is only yards away, and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean enough overall. If you’re staying with children, check around first: when I pulled the chair out from under the desk, I found someone’s stray tablet.

It’s a clean, budget-friendly place with good service, and the rooms are cozy, though small. Just be aware there are no cupboards or lockers, bathroom ventilation is limited, and the free WiFi only lasts 30 minutes a day. You can buy more WiFi and add breakfast if you want, since breakfast isn’t included.
