The shower, food and breakfast selection were good and reasonably priced, and the WiFi was okay. The double bedroom was spacious and clean, the bathroom smelled nice, and there was complimentary tea, coffee, water and biscuits. There was also a hairdryer and iron. The place has onsite parking, a restaurant and a bar, and the staff were friendly. I stopped overnight on the way from Edinburgh to London. A few things kept it from being a five: the kettle had no power base, which felt like a fire hazard, there were too few power points and wall hangers, and no dental kit. There's no AC, the TVs are plasma rather than smart TVs, and the hotel is on a main road. There were no pens for the notepad, and no hot water for a shower after 9pm.

For my 80th birthday, we booked afternoon tea for a group of 50 and had an amazing time. The buffet food was lovely and high quality, much better than what you usually get at this sort of event. Everyone had lovely things to say about the food, the room and the occasion. The staff were lively and so helpful. They let us use the facilities to play a video and music and put up decorations. Would definitely recommend. Thank you, Cumbria Park!

The breakfast was good quality, and replacing plastic containers with glass is a huge plus for us. The rooms were clean and pleasant. This place has got things right, so we have no complaints.

Breakfast was the highlight, with plenty of choice, and it was tasty and well cooked. Free parking was really convenient too. My room had everything I needed for a short stay and was comfortable. I was there for one night and found the whole stay really pleasant, from the warm welcome to the quick, easy check-in. Great stopover in Carlisle, and I'd happily stay again.

I travelled down from my home in Scotland and stayed here halfway through my journey. Paying a little extra for the superior double room was worthwhile, it was lovely. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and breakfast the next day was delicious. I could carry on feeling refreshed and refuelled. This is my new halfway stopover. What a wonderful find.
