Elaine, the manager, is a delightful, friendly and helpful lady. Nothing was too much trouble. When I couldn’t manage it myself, she even got down on her hands and knees to cut a loose piece of sump guard off my car. She’s a real pocket rocket. I understand the owner is recovering from a health problem, and I can assure her the hotel is in very capable hands with Elaine in charge. The hotel itself is tired and needs updating, though it’s in an ideal spot, about 150 yards from the seafront in a quiet area. Our room was clean, the bed very comfortable, and everything we needed was there. Breakfast was okay, continental unless you wanted something cooked. We did, and the scrambled egg was very nice.

We had a lovely, quiet weekend away for Valentine’s. On arrival we were upgraded to the best room, with a sea view. The hosts were fantastic, and the super king size bed was firm and comfy. We nearly missed check-out because it was so comfortable. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The owner was friendly, and the staff were helpful. The room was clean and cozy, and it stayed quiet even though it’s very close to the town centre. The best site in Torbay. Would definitely recommend.

We had an enjoyable short break and a lovely three-night stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the beds very comfortable, and the dining area was nice. The bar looked lovely too.

Cathy, the owner, is lovely, and the hosts are fab and friendly. The price was excellent value, the bed comfy, and the bedding clean and crisp. The decor is a little tired, but it’s a work in progress and the place was clean, so I have no complaints at all. We’ll definitely book again next time we’re in Devon.
