The venue itself is spectacular, and the team made the day feel effortless. Ben (General Manager) was there to help, Alasdair kept us updated throughout the planning, and the staff quietly checked in, moved people around, and sorted things before they became problems. They also set up our table decorations beautifully. We barely had to lift a finger, and both of us felt relaxed. We had a number of coeliac guests, so getting the allergy details right mattered. No one became unwell, and the hotel was happy to accommodate every request. The feasting menu was a hit, with nearly everyone commenting on how exquisite it was. The tasting with József (now Matthew) was special too, it felt like a creative experience we shared together. We chose the ‘outstanding’ suite for two nights as part of our minimum spend and were very happy with it. We didn’t need exclusive use because we planned to leave for our honeymoon that evening. The hotel worked with us on a minimum-spend arrangement for the event from 12:00-17:30, which suited us well. The price was competitive and negotiable for what we needed, so don’t rule options out. We were asked to put together playlists for the welcome, the bride’s entrance, the register signing, the exit, and the drinks reception. Alasdair said we could use the hotel’s playlist for the reception if we preferred. We spent ages picking music, but honestly didn’t notice a single track on the day. I’d take the hotel’s offer and save yourself the time. Beautiful wedding, and worth every penny.

Breakfast was excellent, especially the sausages, even though the kitchen was closed while we were there. Cheltenham has plenty of good restaurants, so we didn’t really miss having the kitchen open in the evening. Our first-floor room was spacious and luxurious, with lots of thoughtful touches. The staff were friendly and attentive but stayed discreet, so it never felt like too much. Remi was particularly lovely and is a credit to the hotel. The location worked for us, though getting to the shops and nicer restaurants involves a decent walk. We didn’t mind it, but it might be difficult for someone less mobile. We really enjoyed our stay.

The staff were lovely, and the thoughtful little touches made our two-night stay feel special. The rooms were gorgeous, and we had a very good meal one evening. We booked a great-value package with breakfast, dinner on one night, and two cocktails. It was nice to be greeted by the log fires at this time of year. We did miss them on the day they weren’t lit, though. We’d happily stay again.

Breakfast was delicious and very reasonably priced. The hotel was gorgeous, and we were welcomed warmly and shown to a lovely room with beautiful decor, a roll-top bath, and a really comfortable bed. It’s about a straight ten-minute walk into Cheltenham centre. We’d definitely come back 💞

The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, with lovely tiling, bathrobes, towels, and a good range of Bramley products. Our room was called “Cosy” by the hotel and wasn’t large, but there was still space for an armchair, a dressing table with a paid snack tray, bedside tables, and their huge lamps. A decanter of complimentary port and chocolate tiffin was waiting for us, a nice touch. The dresser held the kettle and coffee machine, along with tea and coffee. We didn’t find the fridge/minibar until checkout, tucked in the cupboard at the bottom of the wardrobe. That’s also where the milk is kept. The wardrobe only had hanging space for shirts and jackets, but there were feature hooks in the bedroom that worked fine for a short stay. I did find it odd that the only milk supplied was oat milk sachets. There are only five or six parking spaces on the hotel grounds, first come, first served, and they were all taken during our visit. The hotel arranged a permit for nearby zoned street parking, which cost £6 per night. Since it’s about a ten-minute walk to the centre, we left the car where it was once parked. The staff were friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would return. We didn’t eat at the hotel, so can’t comment on the food, but would recommend it.
