The Eagles Hotel

Breakfast was lovely, made with good ingredients and brought out quickly. The beds were comfortable and room 27 was spotless, though it felt chilly at about 18°C. The sash windows let in a draft in late October, and there was no way to adjust the heating. Getting hot water meant running the tap or shower for around five minutes, since the boiler was at the far end of the hotel. The welcome was warm both on arrival and in the bar at dinner. Staff even helped my daughter with her Welsh. The meal was excellent and the wait was perfectly reasonable. It was a lovely one night stay in a quiet part of rural north Wales. The windows and heating could use some investment, but it's a nice place to spend a night.

We only stopped for a meal, but the recommendation was well worth following. My partner is vegetarian, and there were some really good veggie choices, which you don't find everywhere. I had the southern fried chicken burger and loved it. The setting in snowdonia park is lovely, and the quirky seating worked fine. We had our 2 month old with us, and the changing facilities were perfect. The staff were lovely too.

The cooked breakfast was nice, and the staff were friendly. The building looks beautiful from outside, and there was free parking and internet. Inside, though, it felt like a rough pub. The breakfast room was the bar, with dirty glasses still left out from the previous night, and the internet was slow. My room was nowhere near as luxurious as the one I booked from the first photo. It was shabby and grubby, with broken, dirty windows, a dirty towel, dust everywhere, and a dirty shower head and cubicle. The wallpaper was peeling and the decorating was sloppy. It felt closer to one star than three. I was there for business and had no desk or chair. I paid £80, but it felt worth about £50. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The breakfast was delicious, and thanks for the special tea with samosas. I stayed two nights and found plenty of space to park. It was very quiet, the staff were lovely, and the service was amazing. I'd highly recommend visiting.
