Reception staff were friendly, smiley and great. It's a handy place to stay for a night. The bathroom extractor didn't work, so the room got very damp and smelled musty, but opening the window helped. I also put the ironing board cover back on properly 😀

Room 18 had a comfortable bed and a decent amount of space, plus a nice-sized TV. The chair wasn't very comfortable, though, and there was room for a table with two chairs so we wouldn't have to sit on the bed to watch TV, eat or drink. There were shelves and a few hangers for clothes, but no drawers. The bathroom was nice and had plenty of surface storage, though we had to use a towel as a bath mat after the shower. The corridors looked a bit drab, but for the money it's a nice Travelodge, and we'd stay again. The heating was the main problem in cold weather. It couldn't be turned up beyond the set 20-24c, and the electric storage heater didn't put out much warmth for a room that size. The lighting was dim too: the main light was by the door and the bedside lamps weren't bright enough for reading. We could hear traffic on our side of the building, so light sleepers might want ear plugs. Service was friendly when we arrived. You can choose whether staff come in to tidy or replenish things by hanging a card on the outside door handle.

Check-in went smoothly, and free parking was included. We needed an affordable place for the night, and the room was a good size and clean. The bed was comfortable, so we slept well.

The hotel could do with an update, and it's a tired roadside Travelodge. Even so, it was spotlessly clean, probably the most immaculately clean place I've stayed. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

We were here while helping family move house. It's a nice spot, far enough from the motorway that traffic noise wasn't an issue.
