The staff at reception were lovely and helpful, and the breakfast selection was good. I'd made a mistake when booking and thought I'd ordered the cooked breakfast. The restaurant staff kindly explained and helped me pay the extra, though I wish they'd handled it a bit more discreetly, as nearby diners heard the whole conversation. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and had the sharing platter. It was okay, but not up to the quality I've come to expect. The room was a classic Premier Inn double.

The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean with plenty of sockets. The meal deal is great for dinner, though butter and cheese at breakfast cost extra. Handy location, with cheap parking nearby.

The bed was lovely and comfortable, and the linen and towels were clean. The staff were nice, but the inside was a bit shabby. The TV had a white strip at the top, as if the panel was starting to fail. The shower kept dripping, the bathroom was very dated compared with the photos, and the ceiling paint was peeling. There was also a lot of traffic noise, and it felt like the window was open even though it wasn't, since the windows can't be opened. It was okay for what I paid, but I'd have been very disappointed at full price.

The bed was clean, fresh and nice, and breakfast in the restaurant was okay. Staff were nice enough. The room felt tired, the curtain rail fell on my partner, and some of the sockets didn't work. The hallway also smelled a bit fusty.

We've stayed overnight here for years, ever since it opened, and never had a complaint before. The staff were friendly, but this year the room felt a little tired. The bathroom wasn't clean, the skirting boards were filthy, and there was rust on the bath and bathroom mirror. For years, Premier Inn had a deal with the Frenchgate multi-storey car park where overnight parking cost only £5. That deal has now ended, and we wound up paying £37 to park. I won't be coming back.
