Warning, this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I booked in advance and paid the full £186. When I arrived, the room I was given was very small, old and dirty, so I politely asked to change it. The manager kept shouting at me, even though I stayed calm and respectful. I ended up trying to calm her down while asking for basic courtesy. Whether I was right or wrong, I expected a respectful, sensible conversation. Instead, there was arrogance and no tact, and nobody offered a solution. I went to the police, but they were unhelpful, which was probably the worst part. The hotel never refunded my money. After being kicked out, I found a hostel for one night, booked a ferry to Liverpool and left the island straight away. I’d come to the island for a relaxing, enjoyable week, especially because it was my birthday. They showed no care for my feelings or well-being. I loved the island’s natural beauty, but the people running this place were not hospitable. I’ll never return, and I’d warn others to be cautious. This hotel is run by a rude, arrogant family who treated me with clear discrimination and disrespect. It felt like dealing with a gang, not a professional business. I absolutely do not recommend staying here if you want basic dignity and hospitality. They took my payment, kicked me out and kept my money. Honestly, this family isn’t fit to run a hotel or deal with guests. They’d be better off cleaning horse stalls and caring for animals than managing a place that welcomes people. There are many other hotels on the island that deserve your trust. This place is a shame on tourism.

We booked and prepaid through Hotels.com for four adults, then waited in the lobby without a greeting. It can get busy, fair enough, but when a staff member finally appeared, she bluntly said our booking was for “2 adults and 2 children”, which it absolutely wasn’t. She offered no help or clarification and walked away. Another staff member arrived with a hostile, accusing tone and said we weren’t welcome unless we paid an extra £60 on the spot. She then disappeared behind a locked door, leaving us confused for 20-30 minutes. No apology or explanation. While waiting, we saw the lobby walls covered in rules and threats, including that guests could be removed without explanation, fines for various things, limited elevator hours and reception being closed during breakfast. It felt like a low-budget authoritarian hostel, not a welcoming hotel. We decided it wasn’t worth our time or money and left. We booked another hotel with polite staff and clean facilities, without the paranoia-inducing rule posters. The place didn’t feel clean, friendly or professional, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone except maybe my worst enemies. The staff had many ways to handle this, but chose rudeness, avoidance and no accountability. Avoid at all costs.
I’ve stayed here several times. The staff are lovely and go out of their way to help, and it’s in a great location.
Just got back from my second visit, a five-night stay. No complaints at all. The people were friendly, the room was lovely and comfortable, and the sea and beach are just across the road. I’ll return.
Good budget accommodation in a perfect spot, with free on-street parking right outside.
