ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge - Royal Mile

The room was small, but thoughtfully arranged, with cupboards for our things and luggage, cables for our gadgets, and the essentials including a percolator, coffee machine and extra blankets. We also found a cozy room with a lovely view of the university and museum, plus a welcome gift. It was our first visit to Edinburgh, and we wanted somewhere central and walkable to the sights. Check-in was easy, and the receptionist was one of the friendliest I’ve met. She suggested places to eat, things to do and pubs. She recognized our Accor loyalty status and explained that upgrades depended on availability, apologizing that it was a busy period. We were fine with that and hadn’t expected anything else. We had a great experience, would recommend the hotel and would stay again if we return. Thanks to the staff.

For a night in town for a gig, it was just what we needed and good value. The place was clean, comfortable and modern, and the reception team were especially friendly and helpful. They’re a real asset. I’d recommend it and would come back.

The hotel is well placed for both the Royal Mile and Waverly Station. The city and hotel were packed for the France-Scotland rugby match, but when a few things came up, the staff and manager stayed polite and helped sort them out. My only gripe was breakfast: the eggs seemed like they might have been powdered.

The reception team really stood out. I’ve rarely come across such a friendly and helpful group in a hotel. Whatever they’re paid, it probably isn’t enough. I’d gladly return. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room stayed VERY quiet despite the central location. Some parts could use a refresh, but the room was fine. There’s also a comfortable bar and restaurant to relax in.
