The bar is pricey, though the service is great. Keep an eye out for the £6 tray charge. The pool can get busy, so manage your expectations for the price and ask the staff about the best times. I'd been worried after reading the reviews, but honestly, don't worry yourself. If you want a comfortable, clean hotel without anything too fancy, go for it. Great hotel, good location and a fab price.

The rooms were clean and tidy, stocked properly and convenient. The location was handy too, a short walk to buses and other activities. It's a little way from the city center, but a stone's throw from the zoo and park. The staff were very nice, though they didn't seem keen to help. They watched me struggle with my luggage, and when I asked for a trolley, they didn't have one. As I picked up the last and lightest tote, someone asked, “Oh did ya want any help with yer bags?” It felt like an obvious way to avoid actually helping, since I was already done. The bar staff were running around, but nobody came over to take orders, so I had to go to the bar, then go back for cutlery, drinks and payment. I wanted to sit and enjoy my meal, but couldn't. Some staff were genuinely thoughtful and very nice, which is why I'm giving three stars. Otherwise it would've been lower. These are easy things to change.

The hotel offers good value, with clean rooms, decent breakfast and good service. But the layout was underwhelming. Coming in from the parking lot felt like entering a labyrinth, and the room design wasn't much better. The bathrooms were small and missing basics like hanging hooks.

The most important plus for me was the queen size bed, which was super comfortable. Once the music stopped, I slept very well. The staff were super friendly, and there's free parking on site. That's why this gets three stars. I booked two nights, and there was a party downstairs on both of them. There's no soundproofing, so you can hear people in the corridor, never mind the party bass. I don't think it's considerate to let parties continue and keep the music on until 1AM. I asked reception to move me, but they didn't have a room with the same bed size, and said I would still hear the music in the other room. I felt cheated. I wanted to wind down, but from around 10ish until 1AM, all I could hear was the super annoying bass. If I'd known, I wouldn't have booked. Breakfast was 4/10 in my opinion, below average. The bread machine needed four rounds to toast the bread, the oily triangle potatoes tasted weird, and I saw a woman wait about 10 minutes for scrambled eggs.
