Prestonfield House

The cloakroom was handled smoothly, which was especially welcome when everyone was leaving and taxis had been ordered. There must have been around 300-400 of us at the splendid Charity Dinner on Friday 13th February, and the staff managed table service for that many diners efficiently while staying attentive. The three-course meal was excellent. We had a most enjoyable evening.

The decor is absolutely gorgeous, and we were very happy with the place. We came in from Edinburgh by taxi for dinner at 3 on valentines, over 45 minutes early, so we waited in the yellow room and had a couple of delicious cocktails. The door staff helped with the taxi door and took our coats, and everyone was super lovely. Dogs were welcome in the restaurant and other areas, which I liked. A local cat came over while we were having a drink and sat on my partner, who isn't much of a cat person but seems to attract them. He was as friendly as a cat can be, and neither of us minded. The food was lovely, and they booked a taxi back to the centre of Edinburgh for us.

The concierge team made both visits feel seamless, and Chandi in the restaurant made dinner relaxed and memorable. Emma at the front of house was professional, friendly, and clearly cared about looking after guests. We first stayed at Prestonfield House for our honeymoon last year, then came back this year for our first wedding anniversary. On both trips, the setting, attention to detail, food, and service made the occasion feel special. It's become a place we care about and expect to visit again.

The second visit somehow felt even more magical than the first, which isn't usually how it goes for us. The Georgian/Rococo look is wonderfully maximalist, and the room was stocked with generous extras like more water, crisps, truffles, and other treats. The new bathrooms are lovely, and the quality throughout is high. Staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. Rhubarb is definitely part of the package too. Hard to fault, so don't hesitate.
