Breakfast had plenty of choice and was delicious. The quiet garden terrace was also a lovely spot to sit and have a drink. The hotel’s attention to detail stood out, from the quality amenities to the feel of the place. Our room was spacious, spotless, beautifully decorated and very comfortable after a day exploring Edinburgh. The Bonham Hotel itself is gorgeous, mixing classic elegance with contemporary comfort. It’s in a charming, peaceful part of the West End, but still within walking distance of historic sights, Dean Village, shops and restaurants. A luxurious, charming stay in a great location. We’d happily return.

Whoever made up our room each morning was so sweet, leaving chocolates or cookies on our pillows. I also appreciated finding a bottle of water in the fridge every day. The staff were top notch, not only kind but very friendly, and I loved the decor in this beautiful, historic hotel. It’s close to the main sights, with a cool pub nearby and Dean’s Bridge/Vilage just a stone’s throw away, a very pretty town nearby. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay again.

The Bonham’s decor is pristine, and the rooms are incredible and perfectly preserved. Lucas was attentive and professional. Breakfast is cooked fresh, with continental, cooked and kippers among the choices, so there’s plenty to pick from. It’s in a beautiful location, only a 10 minute walk from the centre. If you’re visiting Edinburgh, have a look at The Bonham. Glasgow is worth a visit too, the train costs £16 return and takes about 40 minutes. Thanks to everyone at The Bonham for making our stay perfect.

The architecture is superb, and the rooms are spacious, airy and warm, with high ceilings, chandeliers and lovely big windows. We had a double townhouse type room, though the bed was two singles pushed together rather than a double. I hate that, but it seems pretty standard now. The coffee machine was much appreciated, and the room was quiet, with a nice view of the road. We couldn’t hear anything from the rooms next door. Staff were really polite and helpful. The bar serves snacks such as burgers and fish and chips. It felt a bit pretentious: I got only six chips, but they were all exactly the same size, really thick and stacked like a Jenga game. Watch out for the service charge, which was between £5 and £10 for a meal or two in the bar. The main downside is the location. Most attractions are at the other end of Princes Street, so it’s a mile walk to the station or main indoor shopping centre. Everything you want is in one direction, though the Dean Village area feels really safe.

The junior suite was a sight, with very high ceilings and more than enough room. The property feels very private and is exquisitely designed. We’d been considering staying in the old town, but choosing Bonham was a great decision. It’s one of the finest boutique hotels. Thanks to Lucas (Polish) for helping us throughout and making us feel welcome. We’d like to come back.
