Travelodge Edinburgh Airport Ratho Station

My recent stay at Travelodge Ratho Station left me deeply dissatisfied. Although the hotel is advertised as pet-friendly, the rules made things difficult for us. Pets couldn't go into the breakfast area, but also weren't allowed to be left alone in the room. That left pet owners unable to have breakfast without going elsewhere or eating in their cars. There were problems with food as well. The website said the kitchen closed at 10:00 PM, but at 9:20 PM we were told it was already unavailable for food orders. We were told we could order delivery, then weren't allowed to eat it in the dining room even though the kitchen had shut. That felt absurd and inflexible for a hospitality business. Most upsetting, as a Latin-American group, we felt targeted by Jessica's hostile attitude. She scowled while we tried to order drinks and was deliberately unhelpful with the transaction. The unprofessional conduct and perceived bias were unacceptable. We expected a welcoming place for our family and pet, but encountered shifting rules and a cold, dismissive atmosphere. I won't return or recommend this location, especially to people travelling with pets or international visitors.

After flying back from holiday into Edinburgh airport, we stayed one night. It's a clean, tidy, convenient place for the airport, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was hot and very nice, with a good range: full English, cereal, fruit, pastries, and toast. We'd definitely stay again.

We paid £124 for a double room, which seemed fair beside the £250 room at the Hilton by the airport. The hotel is handy if you're going to a music event at royal highland centre, about 1.2 miles away on foot, and it's also very close to Edinburgh airport for a flight or holiday. It often has ravers or rockers staying there.

Andrew was incredibly helpful when we checked in, and his customer service is a real credit to the team. We arrived early and had breakfast first, with lots of choice and lovely hot food. Our room was clean and lovely. Dinner at the hotel was great too, plenty to choose from and a smiley service from Millie & Jessica. The whole place had a lovely vibe and was clean and tidy.
