I’m based in Ellon, so I can’t speak to the rooms, but I eat at the Buchan Restaurant regularly. It’s right in the town centre, the staff are friendly, and the menu has a nice range of Scottish dishes. The food is tasty and well prepared.

The place was really clean and welcoming, and the facilities were better than I expected. I only wish I’d had time to stay for breakfast, it smelled delicious. After a disastrous day of driving, a gentleman kindly let me in at 1am. Many thanks to him.

The food was excellent, and the local banter was just the thing to cut through any world-travelled cynicism. It’s a beautiful family-run hotel serving traditional Scottish food, with a warm welcome, good conversation, and perfect service. I couldn’t recommend it more.

The full breakfast was delicious, and the place and people were absolutely lovely. I’ve only given four stars because my hotel mate has health issues and found all the stairs very difficult to manage.

We had supper here around Christmas and really enjoyed it. The menu has the usual Scottish food, though I chose a burger. It was fine, just very tall and filling. Nothing in particular to complain about.
