The Old Hall

The Italian dinner was excellent, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. Breakfast was just as impressive, with plenty of variety and good quality. Our room was charming, comfortable, beautifully presented, and full of character, which made the stay feel wonderfully relaxing. The staff's hospitality made the visit especially memorable. The young woman who welcomed us at check-in was kind, attentive, and professional, and made us feel valued right away. The Old Hall Ely brings together elegance, comfort, and outstanding service in a special way. We left with lovely memories and would gladly return. Highly recommended.

For my husband's recent birthday, we spent two nights at The Old Hall Ely and couldn't have asked for a better stay. Our room, the Cromwell, was stunning, with cathedral views from both the bedroom and the freestanding bath. On arrival, they lit a fire for us in whichever room we chose, which was fantastic. It was the most relaxing hotel stay I've ever had, and we were looked after so well.

This is such a unique, luxurious place to stay, with parking right outside our room. The property has real character, huge rooms and a very generous bathroom. There are lots of lovely spaces to explore, including a bar and fireplaces to sit beside. Dining was fabulous, and the historic building has been renovated in a tasteful way that blends old and new. The gracious host leads a welcoming, very friendly team.

I travel regularly for work and have stayed in some very good places, but The Old Ely stands out, even among equally luxurious hotels, because the staff are so friendly and attentive to detail. From the welcome at the front door through to checkout, everything about the stay was exceptional. I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but the hotel quality and level of service here made me want to. If you get the chance to stay and visit the lovely city of Ely, I strongly recommend it.
