I’d have gladly spent the extra £60 to stay at the Premier Inn down the road. This hotel was frankly disgusting, and my two-night stay for £140 was VERY disappointing. The bed linen had hair, ink and dirt marks on it, along with some disgusting white stains. The mugs and glasses looked stained and unclean, and the kettle was full of limescale. It took about 10 minutes to boil, and I had to throw away the tea I made. The curtains and bath mat were stained and damaged, while the paint was chipped in several places in both the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom hooks were partly broken and hanging off, the door was damaged and its lock didn’t work. It was so cramped that I couldn’t dry myself without bumping into the door, sink or toilet. Both shower heads only dribbled, yet the shower still flooded the tiny bathroom floor. The heating was a small faulty portable heater, plugged into the room’s one remaining socket. There were only two accessible sockets in the bedroom, both far from the bed, and one was already used by the kettle. The ‘24 hour front desk’ was hardly ever staffed, or even had anyone nearby. There seemed to be just one staff member in the whole hotel. The advertised ‘soundproofing’ was non-existent. I could clearly hear staff cleaning rooms and other guests talking and moving about in nearby rooms and the hallway at all hours, day and night. I’ve never left a poor review for anywhere I’ve stayed before, but I couldn’t ignore how bad this hotel was.

We were in room 78 on our first stay. It was clean and tidy, and you could smell that as soon as you walked in. The staff were friendly, and breakfast was really good, with a help-yourself Full English. We didn’t have a sea view this time because we booked a last-minute getaway, so we’ll choose one next time. We’ll definitely be back.

We only live 23 miles away, but this little break left us feeling recharged. The room was lovely, with a panoramic view, and everything was very clean. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Thanks to you all, we’ll be back. Mick & Yvonne 😃👍😃👍

Right on the seafront, the location is amazing. Our room was clean and roomy, and the staff were genuinely friendly and polite. We’d recommend the hotel and will definitely come back.

There was plenty to choose from at breakfast, though the bar had no ales and there was no evening food. A great pub is just a five-minute walk up the road. Staff were friendly when I arrived and check-in was quick. The room was OK, with a few marks on the walls. I could hear people in other rooms in the evening, but it was quiet enough to sleep. Parking costs an extra £10. Someone damaged my vehicle in the car park and didn’t own up. That wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but CCTV would have captured it. The hotel said they’d look into this in future. They couldn’t help me and wouldn’t provide the registration numbers of cars staying there because of data protection, so I had to pay for the repair. I thought my car was safe there. That’s why I’ve given a lower rating. Please bear this in mind if you stay.
